never be you and me

A beautiful Sunday I guess… birds chirping… wind blowing softly with cold breeze that telling you that Christmas is almost there…

Children were happy running around, playing like there’s no tomorrow, elders slowly walking, talking to their partners about life and death, young adults with their love ones, walking hand and hand, talking about sweet nothings… then I sat…

I looked at the heavens and closed my eyes… truly; it’s been 10 years yet still fresh from my mind like it just happened yesterday…

I was here like the young adults; in this same park… we walked hand in hand together, exchanging sweet nothings. She was been my life… my home… we’ve already arranged our future, she would be my wife, the mother of my children, and I’m her only one… we had a “near-perfect” relationship that envied by others… until one day…

Here at this park, I’ve waited here, sitting for 2 hours yet she didn’t arrived, texted I that she was sick and she are sorry…

I told her that it was ok… and take good care and don’t forget to drink medicines… she then agreed…

I was disappointed and somewhat mad… for I’ve waited for 2 hours and then she didn’t arrived… well, I guess I should used my time… and I’m ready here at this park, so why not enjoy…

As I stop to buy beverage for myself, my attention was directed to the two lovely couple sitting 5 meters away from me… they were happy and sweet…

I glanced once more, familiarizing faces… the guy is a bit handsome than me… with a cute smile that’s better than mine… the girl, she was beautiful and looked like… MY GIRFRIEND!!!!!

For clarification, I went to them… with head bowed and body shaking… controlling the temper… the madness… then I looked at them… they stopped and the girl said, “Luigi! Let me explain!”

“No need Sophia, it was clearly explained to me with the body languages you both have… may you and this guy be happy forever!” after saying that I walked away… four years were wasted… and it does hurt…

“Hijo…” a tapped from my back brought me out of the memories… “Yes Mr. Ernie?” I asked… “It’s time… they are waiting…” he replied… I nod and followed him…

“This is not your ordinary… no ordinary love… I wasn’t not prepared enough… to fall so deep in love… this is not your ordinary, no ordinary love… you are the first to touch my heart and everything’s right again with your extraordinary love…”

The church became more beautiful as expected… all was there and the bride is walking… she’s indeed beautiful like what Mr. Ernie had mentioned…

She was indeed beautiful… I looked at her and smiled… “It was been 10 years”… I said to myself… then she smiled back at me…

The church became quiet, and I started…

“Brothers and Sisters in Christ… We are here to celebrate this beautiful event between Sophia and Arnold… Let us joined them in this beautiful event… In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

Church bells ringing, birds chirping… winds blowing softly as if Christmas is almost there…
